"Sharp with zero effort."

Between meetings and airports I've no time to fuss over clothes. Pulled this on before an early start and a client told me I looked well rested. It was the jumper doing the work. The cloth has proper weight to it, ideal now the mornings have turned.

"Herself told me not to change. Says it all."

Threw it on before heading out for dinner and my wife told me to leave it exactly as it was. The fabric keeps its shape all evening and doesn't crease. Grand bit of kit for the colder stretch coming in. Two more already on the way.

"Haven't let on where I get it."

The lads keep asking what's changed with the way I dress and I've said nothing. The material is thick and dense, actually keeps the autumn cold out on the walk to work. Nothing flashy about it. That's exactly why it works.

"She thought I was Italian."

First time ordering clothes online in a good while and I was worried about the fit. Came in bang on. Wore it to a dinner down by the harbour on a cold evening and stayed warm the whole night. My date reckoned I was Italian. I'm from Limerick. I'll take it.

Wore it to my father's birthday meal. He's 74 and impossible to please. Halfway through he leaned in and said I'd finally figured out what decent clothes are. He even reached over to feel the cloth. That's high praise from him.

The wife picked it out as a gift and I wasn't sure about the colour. Turns out the deep autumn shade is spot on. Three fellas at Sunday brunch asked where it was from. The material feels dear in the hand, in the best way. Ordered two more since.

"They thought the boat was mine."

Weekend down at a mate's marina. Had it on Saturday morning with dark jeans. By ten a couple on the pier had me down as the owner of one of the boats. It's not mine. But the cloth is heavy enough to hold up to the wind off the water, so I get why they thought it.
